Ha'Shelah Ha'Kadosh derived
from the initials of Isaiah ben Abraham Halevi Horowitz's major
work: Shnei Luchot Habrit. Horowitz (1565-1630) was a rabbi,
kabbalist, halachist, and communal leader. He was born in Prague
but moved to Poland. In 1621, after the death of his wife he
moved to Israel until his death. He was buried in Tiberias. His
extensive work 'Tablets of the Covenant' combines halachah,
homily and Kabbalah to instruct the reader on how to live.
Divided into two sections, the first section contains laws
concerning the festivals, and the second on the mitzvot
organized in the order they appear in the Torah. |
